COSTCO return policy with cancelled membership.?

Hello, I had a question about Costco's return policy. We bought an A/C and then we cancelled the membership two months down the line. Anyway, now the A/C is acting funny and it has a funny smell. What are my options? I tried to reinstate the membership but they denied it.
