Are scene/emo kids in Canada different from in USA?

I'm a 16 year old Canadian and I see lots of scene/ emo kids at my school and in my town. I've visited the states quite a few times in the past year, and when I see "emo" kids, they look and pretty much act the same... there is hardly a difference between Americans and Canadians, and emo/scene ones are no exception
